Once again, due to a lack on nonfiction, we bring you a page of links. This time around,
we've focused on resources for fanfic writers. Many of these links were suggested by members of
the apocrypha Yahoo! club.
  • Crimes and Clues provides detailed information about crime scene investigation,
    fingerprints, forensics and more.
  • Anatomy of a Murder is the "web site that puts you right in the middle of the
action of a criminal murder trial."
  • Maybe this is more than you ever wanted to know about autopsies.
WARNING! The descriptions on this site are GRAPHIC. Look at the bottom
of the page for more links on this subject.
  • If you're looking for specific information about New York law, go to
the The New York Criminal Bar Association site. Although this site can be confusing, if you click
on the 'libraries' folder and click through you can find New York Penal
Law, criminal jury instruction and more.
  • FindLaw is a comprehensive online legal resource.

Okay, we've asked. We've begged. We've even pleaded.
But for some reason our nonfic challenge is just not generating responses as
we'd hoped. So, this time around we're offering two challenges in the hope of turning things around.

Challenge #1: This is an oldie but it's easy and fun. Pick a character, any
character, and tell us how you feel about him/her. You only watch Seasons 3
and up on A&E because those are the Lennie episodes? Great! Tell us why
you like him so much. You never, ever watch Season 1 because you can't
stand that loudmouth Greevey? Hey, we want to hear about that, too. SVU
characters qualify as well, so anyone out there who can't stand Olivia and
can articulate why, please share!

Challenge #2: There's been a lot of discussion lately on the boards and lists
about the decline of L&O this season, especially when compared to SVU.
We'd like to hear your thoughts: Is it true? Do you think that SVU is
getting better while L&O is starting to stale? Or are you still a
diehard fan of the original? This is purely an opinion-based exercise;
there are no right or wrong answers. We'd really like to hear
what you have to say!

Challenge Deadline: June 15, 2001
